Make sure donors can reply to your emails

Who’s the sender of your emails to donors? If it’s nobody, and can’t be replied to, you’re making a mistake, says Email Insider at Email’s Antisocial Sin:

Seeing “no-reply@” in the “from” address raises an immediate red flag. It telegraphs that the email is a one-way street…. the “from” address communicates, “This message is about us. We don’t have time to listen to you.”

Take that seriously. Email is all about engagement and back-and-forth. If you’re making it impossible to respond, you’re missing most of the power of the medium.

  1. Jeff, ironically, the daily email I receive from Future Fundraising Now come from a “no reply” address. I’m not call you a hypocrite, but… 🙂

What this blog is about

The future of fundraising is not about social media, online video, or SEM. It’s not about any technology, medium, or technique. It’s about donors. If you need to raise funds from donors, you need to study them, respect them, and build everything you do around them. And the future? It’s already here. More.
