Alphonse, the New Media Guy

Maybe you’ve seen this guy give a presentation on how nonprofits should be harnessing new media.

He has an amazing ability never to finish a thought. Which probably explains his strange hypnotic power over some organizations; if he ever actually completed an idea, the emptiness of what he was saying would be obvious to everyone.

  1. Is this guy for real?! He just strings buzzwords together. It’s like Barney Stinson lecturing a special ed class.

I don’t get it. You talk like “he” is a real person. All I saw was a jerky animated computer avatar, second-life kind of thing. The whole video is obviously tongue in cheek about the ridiculousness of it all.

What this blog is about

The future of fundraising is not about social media, online video, or SEM. It’s not about any technology, medium, or technique. It’s about donors. If you need to raise funds from donors, you need to study them, respect them, and build everything you do around them. And the future? It’s already here. More.
