The magic of the welcome email for new subscribers

When someone signs up for your email newsletter, or anything else you offer via email, are you grabbing the best opportunity to get that person engaged? According to the Emma Blog at The importance of welcoming new subscribers, the average open rate for welcome emails is 50%. Not bad, huh?

Targeting subscribers when they’re most engaged (they just signed up!) has been known to increase long-term engagement with a brand by 33%, and welcome emails have transaction rates ringing the register 9 times more than other transactional emails.

Don’t miss the chance to welcome them. Just like yours, their in-box is a crowded mess of wanted and unwanted messages — yet for some reason they’ve just welcomed you into it. Something is going right! Don’t let the moment pass.

What this blog is about

The future of fundraising is not about social media, online video, or SEM. It’s not about any technology, medium, or technique. It’s about donors. If you need to raise funds from donors, you need to study them, respect them, and build everything you do around them. And the future? It’s already here. More.
