4 things that will make you a better fundraiser

Here are some great reminders about being a fundraiser from the Catholic Fundraiser blog at Four valuable lessons about fundraising:

  1. Have the right support around you. (Have other smart, passionate people who get it to talk to!)
  2. Continuously grow and learn. (Read the books and the blogs. Go to a conference now and then.)
  3. Do not get discouraged. (Failure is a fact of life in fundraising. Success lies beyond the failure.)
  4. If you feel uncomfortable, you are fundraising correctly. (So important! Fundraising is not about creating messages we like. It’s about reaching donors. If you love the message, you are doing it wrong.)

What this blog is about

The future of fundraising is not about social media, online video, or SEM. It’s not about any technology, medium, or technique. It’s about donors. If you need to raise funds from donors, you need to study them, respect them, and build everything you do around them. And the future? It’s already here. More.
