8 things smart fundraisers are doing right now

Wondering how you can strengthen your fundraising despite the challenges we face? Check out 8 Things Resilient Fundraisers Should be Doing Now at sgENGAGE:

  1. Focus on feelings. People give for emotional reasons. Giving empowers and encourages them, especially in hard times. Your job as a fundraiser is to speak into that reality, not try to fight it.
  2. Survey donors. Connect with your donors by asking them questions!
  3. Meet with supporters (virtually). You may not be able to meet in person, but online meetings are the next best thing.
  4. Embrace digital transformation. By pivoting to digital ways of connecting with donors, you can keep relationships strong.
  5. Shift their fundraising balance. Events are out of the question for now. Find new ways to raise funds and increase engagement with donors. You’ll likely discover better ways.
  6. Practice donor-centered fundraising. If you make your messaging about them and what they can do, you will rise above the pack.
  7. Grow your monthly giving program.
  8. Look forward. Think about the near-term future. We likely face a slump in giving in the coming months. Are you ready? Are you making yourself indispensable for donors?

Want to equip yourself for success even in hard times? Don’t miss the Individual Giving Virtual Summit. It’s happening on a computer near you on June 8, 9, and 10. More great fundraising brains gathered in one place than probably ever before. Affordable. Convenient. Fun. You really shouldn’t miss it! Check out the details here.
