Are your donors tired of hearing from you?

We need to cut back on our fundraising. Our donors are starting to get tired of hearing from us.

You may have said this. A lot of fundraisers do.

There are two major assumptions being made:

  1. That your fundraising is annoying or irksome.
  2. That donors are paying enough attention that they notice and care about the frequency of your fundraising.

For some donors, one or both of those assumptions might be correct.

But for the large majority, neither assumption is correct.

Don’t decide for donors that they’re tired of hearing from you.

That’s their call, not yours.

What this blog is about

The future of fundraising is not about social media, online video, or SEM. It’s not about any technology, medium, or technique. It’s about donors. If you need to raise funds from donors, you need to study them, respect them, and build everything you do around them. And the future? It’s already here. More.
