Want to raise more? Know your donors!

I really like this envelope that showed up in my mail:

It has a lot going on, but there’s one thing I especially want to point out.

See those two “handwritten” lines at the lower left? “Find your glasses.
Sit down. Read immediately.”

If you’re under 40, that probably seems like nonsense to you.

For most donors, it’s one of the most sensible things you could imagine.

Go in your imagination to your mother, grandmother or any older person in your life. Think about how they read stuff:

They look for their glasses, because they can hardly read without them.

Then they find a place to sit. Because they’re not going to read anything beyond an outer envelope while standing up.

Know your donors!

What this blog is about

The future of fundraising is not about social media, online video, or SEM. It’s not about any technology, medium, or technique. It’s about donors. If you need to raise funds from donors, you need to study them, respect them, and build everything you do around them. And the future? It’s already here. More.
